Important Recital Reminders

Important Recital Reminders

1. Parents you MUST drop off your dancers at 1:00 on Sat. for the recital. As you enter the main door at KRHS, take an immediate left to that hallway. There will be two security men there who will take your dancers and pass them off to one of our backstage assistants who will in turn take them to their room mom. Please remember that unless you are a room mom, WITH A YELLOW BACKSTAGE PASS, you will NOT be able to go past our security men. This is for the safety of all our dancers and we appreciate your cooperation in this manner.

2. There are 3 parking lots at KRHS. If you park in the 2nd parking lot (which is the Visitor/Administration lot), you will be able to walk directly into the main door of KRHS which is where you’ll need to enter for both the rehearsal and the recital. For overflow parking, you can park in either of the other 2 parking lots but you’ll have to walk a short distance to the front door.

3. Shortly before intermission all room moms will take ALL dancers back to that hallway again where they will remain for the duration of the intermission. PLEASE NOTE: NO ONE WITHOUT A BACKSTAGE PASS WILL BE ADMITTED TO THE HALLWAY AT ANYTIME, EVEN DURING INTERMISSION. Your dancer will stay in that hallway with their room mom. Again, we appreciate your cooperation in helping us ensure the safety of all our dancers. Older girls, please remember that you MUST report back to the hallway during intermission.

4. Please note: No one will be allowed to tape off and reserve seats at dress rehearsal for recital day. In the past we have allowed this but it has become increasingly unfair to parents who arrive later to dress rehearsal. If you tape seats, I will remove them!!!!! Feel free to come in at 1:00 on Saturday after you drop off your dancer and save seats while you are sitting in the audience waiting for the show to start. Please do NOT tape off seats at anytime…even on Sat. while waiting for the show to start. We appreciate your understanding in this manner.

5. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM AT ANYTIME DURING REHEARSAL OR ON RECITAL DAY. This includes toddler snacks such as cheerios!! KRHS has required this and we need everyone’s assistance in this matter. Feel free to eat/drink before entering the auditorium but you MUST dump all food or drink in the provided trashcans before entering the auditorium. We reserve the right to dismiss anyone from the auditorium who does not adhere to this policy! Room moms and dancers, you can eat in the back hallway, but PLEASE put all trash in the two trashcans provided in the hallway!!!!!

6. You must have a ticket to enter the auditorium or a yellow backstage pass. Tickets are on sale now at the studio for $12/each. We will have them for sale at dress rehearsal but strongly encourage you to purchase them ahead of time. Tickets at the door, on recital day, will be $15/each if there are seats available.

7. For the safety of our dancers, flash photography and videotaping is strictly prohibited. We have hired a professional videographer who will be filming our recital. You MUST order these before recital or the day of. Order forms are available at the studio. DVDs are $50 for special 2-disc edition.

8. All dancers will be dismissed by class at the hallway entrance where you dropped off your dancers. Please be patient as we have 160+ dancers to dismiss at the show’s conclusion. We will dismiss the classes according to dress rehearsal order.

9. You must bring your dancer to dress rehearsal and recital with hair and make-up already done!!!!! This is so important!!!! If you wish to bring a bag for your dancer with shoes, etc. in it, please label the bag and we will return it with your dancer at the show’s conclusion.

10. During dress rehearsal, I will label rows of the auditorium for classes to sit in while waiting for their class to be called to the stage to perform. This is NOT where dancers will sit during the recital; it’s simply easier to put the dancers front & center during the rehearsal. Room moms, please sit with your classes at dress rehearsal and during the recital. Parents, please take your dancer to their assigned row/class and leave your daughter with her room mom even during rehearsal. This is good practice for recital day.

11. Please ask teachers any questions you may have regarding hair, make-up, etc. before rehearsal or recital. During recital day, especially, they will be unavailable to answer any questions. For problems on either day, please contact Amee Kreh, Stage Manager, or if not available, Debbie Morneau, Lulu Lane, or Ali Tantillo, Stage assistants. Thanks for your cooperation!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Amee Kreh at dragonflyamee@yahoo.com or 829-8063. Thanks so much for making our recital enjoyable and for a wonderful dance year!

Room Mom Reminders

Room Mom Reminders

Thanks so much for your willingness to help at our recital by being a room mom. Please see the reminders below and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Amee Kreh,
Stage Manager

Safety is our main concern both during dress rehearsal and recital. It is so important that you keep your dancers with you at all times!!! Please see the attached updated room mom list as we have switched some moms around.

Here’s how it will work…

DRESS REHEARSAL

1. I will label rows of the auditorium with class names. Parents will come into the auditorium, find their dancer’s class, and hand their dancer over to you.

2. You are responsible for keeping your dancers with you until we call their class to the stage. We will do this as quickly as possible but please be patient.

3. You will escort them out the auditorium door, and down the back hallway to the back stage door where either I or one of the stage assistants will meet you. You will then escort the class to the stage wings where we will set them up to perform. After the rehearse, you will take them back out the door, down the hallway and back to the auditorium where their parents may meet you and take them home at that time.

4. Please make sure that your dancers are not eating or drinking in the auditorium AT ANY TIME!!!!

RECITAL

1. Parents will drop off dancers at the hallway you entered/exited to get to the stage at dress rehearsal.

2. One of our security men, will then hand the dancer off to one of the stage assistants who will then bring them to you at your assigned hallway spot.

3. I will label the back hallway prior to dress rehearsal. As you are passing through the hallway on dress rehearsal night, please look for your class name on the wall so you’ll know where to come when you arrive on recital day. This is where you should come immediately upon arrival at KRHS and this is where one of the stage assistants will bring your dancers to you. This is also where you will bring your dancers during intermission!!!!

4. Once the show has begun, you will then escort your class to the BACK of the auditorium where they can sit until about 6 numbers prior to their performance at which time you will escort them back to the drop off spot in the hallway. It is very important that you keep them as quiet as possible during the performance. When entering/exiting the auditorium, please do so between dances NOT will dancers are performing.

5. NO TAP SHOES ON IN THE AUDITORIUM. If your class is performing a tap number, please allow for time to put on tap shoes before they perform.

6. As with dress rehearsal, there is ABSOLUTELY no food or drink allowed in the auditorium at anytime. Feel free to take your class to the hallway to eat a snack.

7. A few numbers before intermission, please bring all dancers back to the hallway to your drop off spot and sit with them there during intermission. You may want to bring a non-messy snack (goldfish, pretzels, cheez-its are good ideas) for your class and/or ask other parents from your class to donate these…same for water. Please do NOT allow dancers to drink juice while in costume.

8. Once intermission has concluded, feel free to bring dancers back to the auditorium so they can watch the rest of the show. You will need to bring them back to the hallway a couple songs before the finale so that they can come onto the stage for our closing.

9. If you have dancers who are in multiple classes, arrangements should have been made for another mom to pick up that dancer, change her, get her to the stage and then get her back to you.

10. We will dismiss from the hallway. I will stand at the entrance and call for classes. When your class is called, please bring your dancers (and any bags they may have left with you) to the entrance so that I can dismiss them to their parents.
11. Please, please, please be sure to clean up and food or drinks after the show and put trash in the trash cans.

If at any time you have questions during the show, please contact me or one of the Stage Assistants…Debbie Morneau, Lulu Lane, or Ali Tantillo.

Thanks again for your help!
